Last night I started reading NightJohn. This is my first Gary Paulsen book. So far I had met three characters. The first one I had met was a little girl named Sarny. The second one I had met was a young man named John. The last one I had met was Gary Paulsen.
The book NightJohn is about a little girl named Sarny and how she want’s to read but in the town she is in they are not allowed to read because her people are under slavery. Then when John met Sarny they where planing to get out of the town they where in so Sarny can learn how to read. So that night John was teaching Sarny how to read by using tabcco for spelling the A,B,C‘s to teach Sarny.The next night they where trying to leave the town to be free so Sarny can learn to read and to be in a better environment to live in. So they walked and walked for days and stop and hid in people’s wells and storge where they keep stuff. Then they meet Gary Paulsen and he had helped them to get out of the conurty so John and Sarny can be free. Faniliy they made it to canada and lived happily and so Sarny can faniliy read.
I love this book because I know that somepeople want to read but they are in a town with slavery and it isn’t fair for them, this is why I wanted to read this book to know what it was about.
